Kavita

Within the straight-jacketed hierarchies of the Hindi film industry, few have withstood the dominance of experience and stature. Many came and had to depart after the honeymoon was over. Kavita Krishnamurthy is like wine. Getting better with age and experience, giving us songs that are diverse in their texture and style, from the high and sprightly "Hawa Hawai" to the tender "Yeh dil sun raha hai", to the sweetly teasing and poetic "Ankhon ki gusthakiyaan", and the wildly infectious "Que Sera Sera", she has proven her versatility without figuring in the eye-stoppers list. No controversies and quietly she has endeared and earned the respect of a generation as fickle as mercury. It is her work that speaks.

Kavita

Her chart-whoppers include "Aankh maare" (Tere Mere Sapne /Viju Shah), "Mera piya ghar aaya" (Yaraana). "Dhol bajne laga" (Viraasat) and "Mr Lova Lova" (Ishq) all under Anu Malik, "Kitna mushkil hai" (Agnisakshi) and "I love my India" (Pardes), both with Nadeem-Shravan, "Ishq bina" (Taal) and "Tu hi re" (Bombay) under A. R. Rahman, "Aaj main oopar" and "Yeh dil sun raha hai" (Khamoshi/ Jatin Lalit), "Nimbuda", "Hum dil de chuke sanam", "Dholi taaro" and "Aankhon ki gusthakiyaan" (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam/Ismail Darbar).
