Sanskriti proudly presents a melodious musical evening featuring Somdatta Basu on 13th Oct 2007 to mark the occasion of Durga Puja 2007 . She will be mainly performing popular Hindi songs.

Somdatta began her vocal training at the age of five. Raised in Jalpaiguri, she started her public performance at the age of twelve and won several awards. She achieved her Masters Degree in Economics from Vishwa Bharati and parallely obtained her Hindustani classical vocal music diploma from the University of Chandigarh.

She performed as a co-singer with many artists of reputation like Kumar Sanu, Babul Supriyo, Manhar Udhas, Sonu Nigam, Vinod Rathor, Bapi Lahiri, Anu Mallick, and many more.

As a Performer, Somdatta has performed in India as well as in the USA and has also appeared in several radio and TV programs. She is also winner of Middle East - Pakistan SaReGaMaPa Challenge hosted by Zee Television Networks, Dubai, UAE
