Prantik
In this year's Natya Mela Sanskriti will present Prantik written and directed by Pradosh Sarkar.
Prantik, name of a privately-owned old-age home, is the story of those who had to make ‘Briddhashram’ their terminal stop of the life – either out of their own volition or under a quirk of circumstances. The pranks and ludicrous conversations of a young girl and boy, Chandrabolee and Suronjon, reveal the story gradually to shift the focus onto Subodh, and Neeroja, two sexagenerians, who end up being in Prantik. Chandrabolee gathers their story to be much different even though their present address is the same – Prantik.
The cast includes: Sangita Nandy, Amrita Sircar, Dipanwita Sengupta, Poushali DeBhowmik, Manjima Sarkar, Anindya Bhaduri, Abhijit Roy, Shibabrata Mondal, Soumen Chatterjee, Sourav Chakroborty, and Swagoto BasuMullick. Playback: Waziuddin Chaudhuri, Aditya Das, Arun Saha, and Sukanto Mukherjee. Makeup: Soumen Ghosh. Production: Arindam Bhattacharya, Sumit De Bhowmik. Set: Bidhan Chaudhuri.
