Amader American Dream: Belasesh Edition
Written and Directed By
Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal
Mr. Rehman and Mr. Matin mirror the dichotomy of an American dream. Mr. Rehman and his wife Bokul lived the American dream with an open heart and a clear sense, and sensitivity. They have bent over backwards to fully support their two children through the best of the schools and colleges. They have run a pitched battle with the daily hardships so the children could have the safe passage and least of worries. In the end, Mr. Rehman and Bokul settle the score. Their children was their life, and to set them a better life is what they have gone all-out after, so much for so long with so few expectation. As the high noon of their career fades into the sad and somber twilight, wake up to the tail end of the American dream. The American dream starts with many possibilities, with a tapestry of colorful images, however it, most of the time, ends with a unpleasant truth as it is very uncertain and lonely for most people as they get old.
