About Sanskriti
Founded in Milpitas, California, on August 1, 1998, Sanskriti began with a heartfelt mission: to bring people together through celebration and service. Our journey started with a fundraising annual festival and a grand Durga Puja — a tradition that continues to this day. Since then, Sanskriti has grown into a beloved non-profit hub for the Indian subcontinent community in the Bay Area and beyond.

Among our proudest accomplishments is the creation of Natya Mela — a one-of-a-kind annual drama festival in California that has steadily earned recognition across neighboring states for celebrating the richness of Indian theater and storytelling.

What sets Sanskriti apart is its open-door spirit. We have no membership fees — anyone with passion and commitment is welcome to join our growing family of volunteers. Together, we drive impact through corporate partnerships, tax-deductible donations, community events, and our annual souvenir magazine.

Our Vision
Sanskriti aspires to be more than just an organization — we strive to be a cultural bridge and a catalyst for meaningful community impact. Rooted in both Indian and American traditions, we aim to become a vibrant melting pot of ideas, creativity, and compassion.
Our vision is to foster inclusive cultural exchange, nurture artistic expression, and provide meaningful support to those in need. We believe that a thriving community is built not in isolation, but through shared purpose and collective growth.
Our Mission
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Sanskriti is dedicated to serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area through charitable, social, and cultural programs. Our mission is to:

-
Support and uplift both Indian and American communities through shared experiences and purposeful action.
-
Empower the younger generation to embrace their heritage while growing into thoughtful, responsible citizens.
-
Collaborate with organizations in the United States and India to further causes in education, social justice, and community development.
